How to get the best color when staining

I discovered a new way to achieve that perfect stain color. It's a lot of steps, but so worth it!

1) Use a pre-stain to ensure an even coat on the wood

2) This is the best hack, use a white stain to counter any tones that are undesirable

3) Use the stain color of your choice last

4) Seal with a polyurethane

For the picture below, I used a mix of special walnut and dark walnut
